Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Just saw the movie "Scott Pilgrim" today (which is based on a series of 6 graphic novels, now I'm considering looking into acquiring those).

My review: Lots of fun for the geek/video-gaming crowd.

Apparently the graphic novels contain an homage (not present in the movie, sadly) to The Secret of Monkey Island... but there are a lot of other video game references in the movie, mostly to the 8-bit era but I caught a few modern ones as well (Rock Band T-shirt, anyone?).

The Monkey Island homage is very small, I forget what it is now!  I'd say the film stuck with the comic book up to the Todd the Vegan, and then deviated.  For the most part, they did pretty well to condense the things that mattered from the comic book into the film, but the ending on the film was really quick, i.e, you don't get the scope of what happens to the other characters like you do in the comics!

I still need to see this movie... But I know Anamanaguchi did the soundtrack for the video game, which I haven't played either yet. I am slacking!
