Anyone thought to email the guy? I've done it with Sierra folks and got full-quality audio.. (yeah, so much for that surprise)

Also, who's using 'lame' presets? They're actively discouraged, noone uses them anymore. You're recommended to simply use quality settings at a VBR level which you're comfortable with.

I think with the newer lame versions the presets just link to a certain quality level. so preset-standard becomes  v3 or something. (not sure about the values, just out of the top of my head)

I helped apeman get the files he wanted Smiley

And mace is correct, --preset standard simply uses a default quality setting in 3.97.  I compared the files created by that, versus the files I created for my own archive (at highest quality) and there wasn't too much difference in size.

Yes you did, for which I am very grateful! Cheesy

preset standard now corresponds to -V2, and preset medium to V4. The two produce the same result.

By the way, I see someone beat me to the eBay auction of the soundtrack CD..... was it one of you guys? Tongue

In case anyone wants it, I have one extra copy of this CD which I am willing to trade. Both discs are in great condition (as far as I know, the demo CD was never inserted in a CD-ROM drive), the cover has a corner cut off in the upper-right corner.

I can't find the rules for this board so I am not sure if I can offer a digital upload in e.g. FLAC format.

I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by asking (it would appear I'm not given someone has already privately shared the soundtrack in this thread), but I'm dying to find the soundtrack as either 320kbps MP3 or FLAC. I'd readily buy the original soundtrack if it were available in the UK, but the only copies I can seem to find are in the USA and are exorbitantly priced even before shipping is factored into the equation.

Would it be possible for someone to upload a high-quality copy of the soundtrack, given all other sources on the web only contain 160kbps or lower versions that appear to be recorded through an analogue input? It would be greatly appreciated, as low bitrate recordings with hiss really don't do the soundtrack justice!

Alternatively, if anyone is in the UK and willing to part with their copy for a reasonable sum, that would work very well indeed!

Thanks guys for any help you can provide.  Smiley
