The other way is to write the image directly to the disk, although I don't know which program can do that for .ima files.  I have a program for .img files though.

If you rename the extension to .img, whatever program you have will probably work.  Smiley

I used MagicISO to read and extract the .ima extension files, since my Nero Suite 6 wouldn't read them.  It's nice to know you can rename the files, though.

What? Someone as meticulous as you just misplaces a disk? Wink

Thanks Cloudschatze.

Do you happen to own any of the original disk or program found here in the Adlib Catalog ?

http://yvan256.net/soundcards/adlib/catalog/

Beside the Jukebox & Visual Composer, I also have the 8 Song Albums disk. And the rest I don't have it. It would be great if we can use this forum to complete this collection.

Hi Patrick,

No, I'm afraid I only have the AdLib disks I've posted. I hope to get the manual and assorted documentation scanned at some point, but right now the scanner is defunct.

I would love to hear the additional song albums. Would you mind posting these, please?  Smiley

Hi Cloudschatze,

Managed to dig those files out... but there is a problem... I don't have a place to post it. If you don't mind I can email you the files and you do the posting. Please PM me your email address.

Hello all,

Since this thread proved to be so helpful in the past, I thought I'd resurrect it.
I just purchased an original Sound Blaster 1.5 card (with CMS chips), and I have downloaded the driver image disks, which Cloudshatze has graciously provided before.  After extracting the 4 image files (360k each) to 4 floppy discs, I try to install the software on the hardrive, by executing the <inst-hd c:> command in Ms-Dos 6.22.

The installation starts correctly, then prompts me to insert the disk labeled "voxkit".  I then realize that I need to label the starting disk with the "voxkit" label.  That works, and installation goes on further until the prompt comes back and tells me to insert the disk labeled "FM Intelligent Organ".  Well, now we all know that I cannot write that specific label as indicated by the installation, so I try many different combinations, such as sb_organ, fmorgan, fm_organ, fmintorgan, etc., but nothing works, and the disk is not recognized as a result.

If I only knew this labeling name, my installation would happily continue; would any of you know, based on the original discs, what that label might be?  Also, I would appreciate the labels for discs 3 and 4 as well.

Thank you all for your help.

And....another problem solved.  Through trial and error, after many tries, I stumbled upon the right combination of the label of the 2nd disk, which is simply <SB ORGAN>.  The first time I tried this I was very close, with <SB_ORGAN>, however that little change without the underline eluded me, wasting a few hours until I got the right combination.
The last 2 disks were very easy to detect, and I got them installed on the first try.

Anyway, if this helps anyone with the same dilemma, I feel happy to have contributed to the solution.

Hello BlueMax,

I keep forgetting to hook up the 5.25" floppy drive and dig out my 20-year-old Adlib ROL collection!!

Then here is a friendly reminder that you still owe me & Great Hierophant a copy of your SB 1.0 CMS Intelligent Organ Disk stored on 5.25" floppy.

Better start hooking up the 5.25" floppy drive of yours and keep this thread moving...

Great Hierophant, you want to second the request again?  Grin

If I weren't so lazy, I'd be happy to investigate those floppies for you.  But that would mean having to put one of my 5.25 drives from my non-working XT into one of my main systems, and that is a pain in the rear.

I have good news and bad news:

The good news is that I know how the Sound Blaster can be made to work with most of the C/MS and Game Blaster software, thanks to Alkarion.  It turns out that the Sound Blaster driver disks contain an updated version of the CMSDRV.COM driver that will work with the Sound Blaster (i.e. sans CT-1302 chip.)

The bad news is unfortunately, the Intelligent Organ software will not work because it does not use CMSDRV.COM or has it embedded into the executable.  Also, this means that the Taito games also will not work.

The inevitable conclusion to be drawn is this: a real Game Blaster is necessary to ensure that all games that support the Game Blaster card will work with the Game Blaster option.

Is there a chance anyone can share this version of CMSDRV.COM?

Have the same problems with my CMS compatability in some games with my SB1.0, 1.5 and SB 2.0 which all has CMS chips

Where does this CMSDRV.COM driver come from? I can't seem to find it on my SB2.0 installs disks...have to install disks for my SB1.5 or 1.0 either   Sad
