- Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine
"Introduction - Original Version" by Tom Lewandowski. Parts of this version of the Introduction Theme for "Al Emmo And The Lost Dutchman's Mine" were eventually scrubbed and not used in the final game. Although I actually prefered the accordian banter over the saloon piano that replaced it, the piano did work as a better backdrop for the overall scene. - Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine
"End Themes" by Tom and Dianne Lewandowski. These Ending Themes were not included on the official soundtrack CD release, but they contain a medley of some of my favorite music from the game. The music has been shortened a bit since the character's dialogue was removed.
- Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine
"Bubba" by Tom Lewandowski. This song may be best described as a mix between western, country, rock, and blues, with a slightly sinister mood. Bubba's kind of mean-spirited. This 'hybrid' version of the song was performed on the Roland SC-8820 (percussion, harmonicas), SC-8850 (guitars, banjo), and MT-32 (timpani, winds) sound modules. - Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine
"Al's Theme Live!" by Tom Lewandowski. Performed in front of a live studio audience - not. This was created as a joke for the Al Emmo design team during the early stages of game development. A modified version of this song later appeared on the Official Soundtrack CD, and without the fabricated audience. - Royal Quest/King's Quest II
VGA Out-take. Tom Lewandowski. This song started out as the introduction for "Tierra's" Royal Quest adventure game. As some of you know, Royal Quest was scrapped due to various reasons. However, I retained the basic melody I had composed for the game -- which later served as the King's Quest II VGA primary love theme. You'll also find this same song posted on the King's Quest II VGA Soundtrack page, labeled as "Musical Rehearsal Out-take". I just really like the direction this theme was headed. Perhaps at another time or in another place... Click HERE for more original music from King's Quest II VGA. - A Hero's Quest - MP3
A Hero's Quest - Roland GS
Tom Lewandowski. An interpretation and arrangement of the first four Quest For Glory adventures. Some esoteric themes from the games are represented in this sequence, such as one of my favorite scores that's heard while visiting Erasmus at the Wizard's Institute of Technocery in Quest For Glory 2. The MP3 was recorded from the original Roland GS version. - Rubber Ducky Regatta Rag
Tom and Dianne Lewandowski. Imagine five-thousand little, yellow rubber duckies floating down a small river, each scrambling to cross the finish line a quarter mile away before the others. As I recall, several crossed together; trying to navigate little rubber ducks on a rough river isn't an exact science. My wife and I were asked to write a little jingle that would be used for the backdrop of a radio advertisement announcing the competition. (First prize was a trip to Vegas!) We came up with what you'll hear in this MP3, written for the Roland HP3000 Digital Piano and MT-32. The HP3000 has recently been replaced with the Sound Canvas 'Honky Tonk 2' piano, as heard in this recording.. Those 'quacks" you hear are the MT-32's default "Funny Vox" timber, with tons of benders being applied. We were wondering how to do this outside of hiring a real duck to provide the effect. Okay, it's NOT a real duck, but if you imagine real hard, it'll pass. My wife's ragtime piano performance still fascinates me to this day. She came up with the main 'ducky' theme while I rounded out the rest of the band. - The Kanen Expedition
